Collective Worship

Church schools hold a daily act of Christian worship for the whole school community which supports and contributes to the spiritual flourishing of all. Collective worship should be inclusive, invitational and inspiring.

LDBS publishes a Collective Worship Calendar each term. It is based on the Anglican Lectionary C Bible readings for the week It includes an explanation of the Bible passage and suggestions for hymns or songs and discussion questions. It can be used in whole school Collective Worship, in form time or at home.

LDBS hosts diocesan worship and celebration events that pupils from all Church schools can participate in, including an annual LDBS service at St Paul’s Cathedral and the biannual Prom Praise for Schools celebration at the Royal Albert Hall.
